When you lift part of the drawing, you travel in time. Feel the lightness of the paper and the weight of the years: hop! Thirty years less! Hop! Thirty years more!

I made this book to tell children that they mustn’t lose their dreams when they grow up, and also to remind adults of their childhood dreams.

Also, it’s important to tell children that adults have been small before being grown-up (it’s not always so obvious to a child).

Each time, the chosen situation creates a little story: what’s happened in all these years?
Since there is no text, everyone can interpret the story as they wish. Ask children questions, you’ll see, the answers are often surprising…
For example, on the page with the monkey, what has happened? Children often say that it’s because he has too much work to do or has lost his job… two obsessions of our time!
Or again, on the page with the wolf, how does a sweet little pet become a nasty big rogue?

The quotation (George Bernard Shaw) inscribed on the back cover naturally has its role in the game: "Many people are never young; some people never get old".
